William “Bill” Schreiber
Builder of Mountains and Communities
Bill Schreiber brings a lifetime of engineering excellence and mountain-town know-how to the Board at First Home. Based in Jackson, Wyoming, Bill is the founder and president of Gannett Engineering LLC, a respected consulting firm that advises ski resorts nationwide on development and operations. Prior to launching Gannett, Bill spent 32 years as Director of Engineering and Planning for Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, where he led over $200 million in capital projects — from high-speed ski lifts and gondolas to lodges, amenities, and affordable workforce housing. Much of his work involved complex permitting across both Forest Service and private lands, requiring tight coordination with federal, state, and local authorities.
Bill’s deep experience in entitlement, construction oversight, and infrastructure planning ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance. One of his final projects before retiring from the resort two years ago was a 90-bed affordable housing complex in the town of Jackson — a timely achievement as First Home prepares to build similar housing supported by H2B visa labor programs. Bill holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut (Class of ’79). He began his career in the oil fields with Schlumberger as a field engineer and district manager before settling in Jackson and helping shape one of America’s premier mountain resorts. Bill lives in Wilson, Wyoming — nestled against the majestic Tetons Mountains — with his wife, Cathy.
A passionate skier, sailor, hiker, and tennis player, Bill also serves on the Teton Village Architectural Committee and volunteers as treasurer for Crime Stoppers of Jackson Hole.
